
Nurse Practitioners Advanced Training in Headache
This course, designed by the Canadian Headache Society, supports Nurse Practitioners (NPs) with advanced training in headache to enhance skills and expand competency.
This innovative program offers multiple opportunities for engagement with Canadian headache experts and NP colleagues across the country. Through this dedicated online portal, NPs will have access to self-directed learning modules, knowledge evaluation tests and expert-led courses. After completion of all activities, the CHS will issue a certificate recognizing a commitment to advanced training in headache management.


Learning Objectives
After completing this course, nurse practitioners will be better able to:

Identify and differentiate headache disorders, with a focus on migraine

Describe the pathophysiology, disease burden and recent advances in the treatment of migraine

Utilize non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic therapies

Adapt treatment plans to special populations, including pediatric/adolescent, pregnant/breastfeeding
